Mary M. Jones- Weaver
Bio
I'm a weaver who sees my craft as a transformative act that reconnects me to the land, my ancestors and my community. I find my greatest awareness comes when sitting at the loom - whether weaving yardage, functional items or intricate tapestries. The art of making allows me to relax my mind and body outside of the urgency of capitalism and catch glimpses of the world as it should be.
I live in Nipmuc and Pocumtuc lands in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA. I find inspiration in the lands and people who are part of the many places I have called home.
I use my weaving practice to slowly process the things that feel too big to look at head-on, including grief and the climate emergency.
